Today we were in our garden when we heard a loud trumpet-like sound. We looked up and there they were. More than thousand cranes in differend groups. Some groups were onyl fifty, others more than two hundred. If you click on the image you can see them better. They were high above our heads.

Not sure if the sound plays, it does on my phone.

Date: 2020-11-07 05:34 pm (UTC)That's a funny thing with the sound. It is clear on my phone, but I have difficulties to hear it on my PC too. And I hoped that in one of them the sound could be heard. Great it worked with the second.

Date: 2020-11-07 09:21 pm (UTC)Yes, they all have long legs.
The legs of a stork are red except in hot summers when he shits on them to cool his blood.
Herons live near water, because the eat fish and other animals which live in the water. They hatch in bigger colonies in trees.
Cranes normaly live in Skandinavia or Finnland, so maybe you see them when they fly through.
So I think it really might be a stork, which is great because we don't have storks here.
