Spring feels like summer, and I like to invite you into my garden.

I had to cut some smaller branches in our apple tree (the long blue pole on the tree is a kind of scissors that can be extended and used to cut high up without a ladder) and my hat kept falling off. So I hung it in the tree.

Since I didn't go away for my holiday I have holiday in my garden. And there are some things that changed from your last visit to now.

For example we had our vegetables under protectiv covers.

And now I've built a protection shelter out of reeds and net, so that they have sun and air and rain.

I would love to invite you into my garden again. Since we have wonderful weather, where else should I be?

After sealing the roof of our toilet extension with liqiud bitumen yesterday

we planted some cabbage turnip and peas and pak choi.

And today I can relax and enjoy the day. A day with flowers and sun under the cut.

Today is the start of this years garden season. And since we have water again (it's cut off every winter because the pipes are not deep enough in the ground and could freeze and break) we decided to clean our little pond. It's really small, it takes only 200 liters of water.

And we discovered it has a resident. I tried to give him a kiss, because he might be a prince. But he didn't like it.

And there are the first flowers

Today we had visitors in the garden who really are good looking ones.

No, not Bodie or Doyle, but good looking too.

Once again I would love to invite you to visit my garden and I hope you come and relaxe with me.

Today we were greeted by a frog who didn't have any fear and stayed where he was.

White

Blue

And sort of pink

And sometimes I think that I really should go to the market and sell some of the food that grows in our garden. But never the pumpkin. *gg*

More food here )

And fresh peppermint, which smells really nice

I hope you enjoyed the trip around my garden. I'm going to relax now and enjoy the sun and a light breeze.

The second day of my two weeks holiday started with domestic stuff like doing my laundry and watering my flowers on the windowsill. And then we drove to our garden. We really wanted to relax, but instead, we started harvesting our potatoes.

But only from half of the field.

But the result looks good and I can't wait to taste them.

Unwashed

Our leek is in full bloom so we can't eat it this year but we will get some seeds for the next.

Oh, and the bumblebees love our wild oregano (sorry it is so blurry).

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed the day in my garden.

Today we were in our garden when we heard a loud trumpet-like sound. We looked up and there they were. More than thousand cranes in differend groups. Some groups were onyl fifty, others more than two hundred. If you click on the image you can see them better. They were high above our heads.

Not sure if the sound plays, it does on my phone.

Since the weather is wonderful I spend the day in the garden. It is in full bloom.

Here's the cherry tree with a glimpse of the lilac

and the cherry blossoms in close-up.

The lilac which is behind the cherry tree. And it smells soooooo good.Too bad that you can't post the smell as well.

A variation of tulips )

This is a bush calles snowball because his inflorescences look like snowballs. And they have a very intense smell too.

This is from our small lilac tree, the blossoms are darker.

Have a primrose as well. It's a very old one, we planted it in 2001 and now we have at least ten children with the same colour.

And I don't know this bush. It is a small one and the blossoms smell very intense of honey and are well loved by bees and bumble bees. So if anybody knows the botanic name (or the english name) please tell me.

Our guest the frog didn't allow us to take a picture, I think he's wanted for making to much noise on a quiet day. *g*
