Today I finally finished my Pros corner. I bought two new shelves so that I have more room for all the zines I own. Now there is no more zine in a box, they are all out in the open. And I have a place for my wonderful Bodie and Doyle image.

All I have to do now is to make a list of which zines I own and find a way to know which zine is in which shelve. If anybody has any idea how to make it that would be great. I thought about making a list in Excel with the title of the zine, titles of the stories in the zine and the name of the author. And, of course, the number of the shelf and the zine (that is is it the fifth or the twelfth or the twenty-second in the row). Does that sound logical and feasible? How have you organized your zines?

Pictures under the cut.

Since I didn't go away for my holiday I have holiday in my garden. And there are some things that changed from your last visit to now.

For example we had our vegetables under protectiv covers.

And now I've built a protection shelter out of reeds and net, so that they have sun and air and rain.

I would love to invite you into my garden again. Since we have wonderful weather, where else should I be?

After sealing the roof of our toilet extension with liqiud bitumen yesterday

we planted some cabbage turnip and peas and pak choi.

And today I can relax and enjoy the day. A day with flowers and sun under the cut.

We got a very friendly welcome

The second day of my two weeks holiday started with domestic stuff like doing my laundry and watering my flowers on the windowsill. And then we drove to our garden. We really wanted to relax, but instead, we started harvesting our potatoes.

But only from half of the field.

But the result looks good and I can't wait to taste them.

Unwashed

Washed and put out to dry.

Our leek is in full bloom so we can't eat it this year but we will get some seeds for the next.

Oh, and the bumblebees love our wild oregano (sorry it is so blurry).

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed the day in my garden.

Cranes

Today we were in our garden when we heard a loud trumpet-like sound. We looked up and there they were. More than thousand cranes in differend groups. Some groups were onyl fifty, others more than two hundred. If you click on the image you can see them better. They were high above our heads.

Not sure if the sound plays, it does on my phone.

Yesterday we harvested our potatoes and had unexpected visitors. I never thought they would let me take the pictures. But the first was very brave.

Here are our potatoes. My sister always washes them and she thought it might be a good idea to put the rubber duck (could be Bodie's) behind them, so that you have a size comparison.

And we had two visitors.

All in all it was an exhausting day, but the result was worth it.

We have a wonderful looking evening sky tonight. You really wouldn't think that there is thunder outside.

Time difference only two minutes.

Oh, it's raining again in the short time it didn't rain we went to the shell museum. It's only a small museum but it containes lots and lots of shells.

And when I say lots I mean it. Under the cut without any words.

So, that's it from this years holiday. We have only one day left and I hope the weather will be kind to us tomorrow. Next week it's back to work for me and create pictures for the Big Bang. I had a great time here in Hooksiel. :-)

And the view up to the rook, 105 steps up in darkness

But there were nice things too.

The weather isn't nice the last days, so we went and visited some old churches. The churches around Hooksiel are very old, the oldes is from the 9. century. It is the church of a village called Hohenkichen (Highchurch)

After that we went to the church in Waddewarden, St. Johannes. It's a church from 1264

The last church we visited in the last three days is in Pakens, a very small village with only three houses, but with a very large church which was build somewhere between 1250 and 1300.

That was my church post. Yesterday we went to Jever and visited the castle museum. But that will be another post, because I made so many photos, that would be to much for this post.

So, have some pictures from Thursday that I forgot in my last post.

Thursday )

I like this one very much, it says: Whenever a child sits in front of a smartphone, an adventure dies on the beach.

Today we went for a walk and met some sheep.

Later we went relaxing at the big sea Wangermeer and I could swear the tree said Give me five.

Wednesday we made a boad trip called Jadetörn. It goes to the Jade-Weser-Prot which was build for 2.700.000 container ships in the year. But they only had 6.700 in 2018 and it doesn't look like they could reach the planned number.

I think the cranes look like giraffes.

On Thursday we went to Wilhelmshaven. It's twentyfive minutes with the bus and for guests it's only 1 Euro to pay. So we took the bus.

This is the King-Wilhelm-Bridge near the marine museum.

Today was the day one of my very good friends had to move his shop because the landlord wanted more than 80% more rent. So what did we do? We were two women and two men (one only for driving one of the cars because he is nearly 80 years old.) And we had to move more than 30 moving boxes full with stuff from his shop. Some were very light because they contained only pillows and mobile phone covers. But some were very heavy because they contained books and coal and such things.

And I felt like Bodie and Doyle in "In The Public Interest".

And even though I took a hot bath, I think tomorrow everything will hurt.

I've finishes my latest handiwork. Crocheted sponges in form of a flip flop. My sister wanted some and now she'll get them as a birthday present.
It was fun to make them.
