So, after finishing my work with the actual BB-Art I had the time to read some more stories. This is which I choose for my Prosfic-Bingo-Card.

H is for Highway of Regret by [livejournal.com profile] merentha13

Summary by the author: Fate or coincidence? Derby, Belfast, London, the British Army, MI5, the IRA, CI5. Who is Patrick Breen and what part did he play in the lives of CI5’s best?

I must admit, at first I didn't know what to think when I read the summary. But I was curious to learn more. So I started reading and it was a good read. We discover that Patrick Breen looks like the older version of Doyle (that's why I used this icon) and that he is his father. But he never married Doyle's mum.

The story starts with the five years old Ray running after his dad who once again leaves his family. There are more scenes and the implication is that he is with the IRA. But we never read this so we can't be sure. I love how merentha13 creates situations where we feel with both, Ray and his father. And then, suddenly, we are in 1981 and Ray Doyle is one of CI5's finest. And he gets the information that Patrick Breen, his father is a MI5 Agent. This information throws him into a turmoil of emotions and it isn't easy for him to follow the assignment Bodie and he get. To get Patrick Breen out of his undercover job.

I really love how she shows Doyle's feelings and sometimes insecurity about his father. It was a very nice read.

Oh, and if anybody wonders, I try to read some older stories, so the new BigBang stories from this year wouldn't be included.

Very good. I know I read it in 2015 but must admit I forgot what it was about. I really had to read it again.
