Today it was under -3° Celsius and it was drizzling the whole day. So you can say it wasn't a nice day, but we had visitors on my fathers balcony.

There were three bullfinches, one female and two male.

This is the single man.

And here are Mister and Misses Bullfinch in the cherrytree

And Mister Bullfinch captured the feeding house.

The war of the bullfinches was observed by Mister Robin

I took the pictures through the window with eightfold optical zoom and additional fivefold digital zoom. Therefore, the images are slightly out of focus.

Pretty good quality, despite all the zooming! Must be a good camera!

It's nice to see all the visitors on your father's balcony. :)

Bullfinches and robins!

My mother has blue tits in her garden, all I ever seem to see are seagulls and magpies!

And I think the pictures are pretty good :0)

Thank you! Well, it is a very small camera, but it works very good and has many possibilities.

One funny thing was, that the male didn't fight about the female bird, but about the feeding house.

Thank you. At the moment they arrive every day. But normally there is either the pair or the single bird. Never all three together.

In former times we had blue tits and great tits on the balcony as well. But this year they are very rare. Sometimes we have a wren too.

And thank you that you like the pictures. :-)

Thank you! It seems as if the colours are brighter in winter.

I thought I saw a little jenny wren the other day, while I was out and about. I couldn't believe it - they're as rare as hen's teeth.

I've heard blue tits suffered from the decline in milkmen - in the old days they would peck through the milk bottle tops and steal the cream as a supplement to their diet. Now we all get our milk in cartons (well, a lot of us do). It can't be the only reason, but I don't suppose it helps.

It's nice to see garden birds out and about :0)

The pictures are good! Considering the light and the zoom. Mine are worse. But it's not really daylight here...
Are you counting for NABU?

These are the kinds of birds I've only seen as paintings on Christmas cards. How lovely to see the real life versions! Thank you for sharing.

The wren is a steady guest at our balcony.

We are feeding the blue tits but I think there are to many people around who feed them as well. And so they won't come to us because of the robin. It is very dominant. :-)

Thank you! Yes, for drizzle and a light mist they are good.

Yes, I was counting for NABU, but we had only this few birds. It is so sad, this year there are a lot less than the years before.

They are on our balcony for at last three winter in a row. And the robin comes the whole year.
