Pros Alpha-fic Bingo Challenge - E

E really was a little tricky because there were two stories that would fit. One I never read before and one I knew but wanted to read again. I choose the one I've read a long time ago. It is a story with only 13.390 words. The other has 50.100, so I'll read this sometime this year.



E is for Endlessly by fjbryan


Endlessly is a wonderful Bodie h/c story and it works very well that Bodie is in a coma for a very long time. That way we learn how devoted Doyle is to his partner. And Bodie didn't even know this.
That's mostly because Bodie fell several meters down onto the concrete floor of an old warehouse. And he hit his head very bad.

The doctors are not sure that he will ever wake up, but Doyle is stubborn and is sure he will wake up. So he let them move Bodie into a private room in a convalescent care facility where he visits him every day or night. He speaks with him as if he is awake and that for day after day, week after week. And then, after a month, Bodie wakes up.

We have some nice scenes with Nurse Jenkins (a great character) and a nice meeting of Murphy and the younger nurse Sarah. And it is Nurse Jenkins who opens Bodie's eyes about his partner and his own feelings. But by then Doyle is up North, working alone on the Hebrides.
