I have purchased a fully functional television for the Rainlads. I am fascinated. View with sound on.

ETA: Sorry for the bad sound and video quality. It really is a good quality when you see it live.

Oh, did I ever tell you what I love at Christmas time? No? I really, really love the amount of lovely Pros Christmas cards I receive from all over the world. It is so much fun to open the post box every day and a card on one day or the other. They are always made with love and sometimes there's even a little present enclosed.

Thank you to all of you who have sent a card. They are always treasured.

Okay, they always say that wonderful things have to end some day. And you know what? They are right. All good things have to come to an end and so my holiday ends today. Tomorrow I'll go home again.

So let's have some last photos under the cut

And one I think is very funny

That was it for this year, we'll drive home early in the morning when there isn't so much traffic on the streets. See you all around

Tomorrow is our last day. So today we took a longer walk through the village today. If you like, come with me

Today we took the bus and went to Jever. It is a small town with a big brewery. And a castle. But lets start with the cockchafer we found. I found it after we watched a blue tit follow something big. It was this one

More of Jever )

And then we went to see the castle, but only from the outside

Oh, and Jever has a beautiful old town center

This was my day at Jever. Thank you for accompanying me.

The last two days I didn't take much pictures. Yesterday the battery of my camera was empty and today we didn't walk a lot.

But yesterday we took a 9 kilometers walk through a community forrest and it was like a jungle surrounded by pasture land.

Pasture land with sheep, of course

Today we were at the fair here in the village and later the day we were eating at a nice little place with the following sign. The cook really is a witch, the meal was very tasty.

Today we went to a domestic animal park where there were sheep,

little goats

pigs

and wool pigs (Edit: just learned tha they are called woolly pigs)

and peacocks (he didn't like it that I took a photo)

And nice doves.

First of all, I'm happy I'm on holiday, even that the weather isn't fine. We have clouds and storm and we had rain on monday. But hey, it's holiday. :-)

We walked along the water

watched some bumblebee at work

and greeted some sheep

We visited one of the very old churches that are in the area. They were all build as a place where the women and children could hide when the vikings came.

and we found an old windmill (it was closed)

And this place must be wonderful in the sun.

Easter egg discovery

I know we didn't have a challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] discoveredinalj although I was willing to try and start one. But Easter is so early this year. (Where are the last three months by the way?) But Doyle promised Bodie some Cadbury creme eggs. The only thing he'll have to do is ride with him to Walton-on-Thames. There he would find his Easter egg.

How the Easter egg became a Gem
a little picture idea by Macklingirl

Doyle promised Bodie some Cadbury Creme Eggs if he would spend the Easter weekend with him in Walton-on-Thames. And since Bodie loves his Cadbury Creme Eggs he said okay.

They were lucky, the weather was good when they arrived in Walton-on-Thames. Bodie was already looking for the pub, while Doyle sat behind him on his motorbike. "Stopp there, on the green", Doyle called and like the good friend and lover Bodie was he stopped.

"Have you seen this house on the other side? That's it, that's your Easter Egg", Doyle beamed. They got off the bike and Bodie turned around.

"That on? That's a ruin, Ray."

"I know, but take look inside and you will see its potential. Please, Bodie."

They walked through the empty space where the door should have been and took a look. There was a bar that was pushed into the corner and there were chairs and stools lying around. It looked as if the old owners had left in a hurry. There weren't any floorboards on the ground, only some old and ugly wood.

"Oh Ray, that would be a lot of work to make this into something decent again", Bodie said.

"Yes, I know. But it will be worth it. I know the owner of the house, it's the father of my cousin's best friend. And he wants to get rid of it, one way or the other. And I really would like to try."

"Okay, love. Let's speak with him. If it doesn't cost too much we can try it."

They had a successful chat with the owner and after two-and-a-half-hour they were the fresh owner of the old pub from Walton-on-Thames. And the other day they started working.

They replaced the door and the steps and Bodie laid the new wood floor

while Doyle painted the outer wall

And they gave the house a new name (but it is only one piece of the whole name)

To be continued sometime around Christmas.

I hope you like my little silliness and Easter story which will find its end sometime around Christmas this year.
